I’m not a fan of the smooth jazz that plays during certain scenes, and even though Break Up is an okay song, Run Around in the dub is way more exciting.

I’ve been rewatching 02 in Japanese and I have to say that I think the dub’s music works better for this series than the original, I thought the first Adventure had way better music.

The scene when Wizardmon died is another one where both the English dub and Japanese music fit very well, they are both sad little pieces of music. For example in the last episode of Adventure during the battle with Apocalynmon when the kids are about to fight Brave Heart starts playing and you get a scene of epicness like you know something big is about to happen, while the dub played an orchestria that I felt gave the scene a feeling of heroism, which also worked. I mentioned music and that’s what most people like about the original, but sometimes I feel as if the dub music works better for some scenes and vice versa, other times it works the same for me. It bugs me a bit that during serious scenes the writers wanted to be funny, as if they didn’t take the anime seriously. The writing is also a lot more serious in the Japanese version, there was so much added dialogue and bad jokes and puns in the English dub, that it make certain scenes in both versions feel like a completely different show. You have to watch the Japanese version for yourself to make that judgement, but honestly most people will say it’s better because it’s the original, it’s uncensored, and the music scores in the original Japanese versions are some of the best in anime period.
